CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER
Join us for a guided hike on Stringer’s Ridge. We chose this hike as a beginner friendly yet moderately paced adventure, less than 10 minutes from the Convention Center, on the ridge that overlooks the North Shore, Tennessee River, and downtown Chattanooga’s revitalized waterfront. The distance is about 1.5 mile round-trip, and is expected to take a little over 1 hour.
Stringers Ridge is a 92-acre urban wilderness park located in the heart of North Chattanooga. There are 7 miles of multi-use trails for both pedestrians and bikers, with some trails designated for foot traffic only.
The trail terrain consists of well-groomed single track with rolling hills and some short steep sections. Some are beginner friendly and family oriented, allowing for a leisurely stroll (which we will experience), while other sections are designated for more experienced hikers and bikers.
NEED TO KNOW:
- Pre-registration is required. NO on site registration.
-
Dress appropriate for beautiful outdoor, early Fall weather. Layers are always great to consider.
-
Wear sturdy, closed toe shoes that are comfortable and broken in. You are welcome to wear hiking boots but they are not necessary. Just ensure you wear comfortable sneakers with a good outsole grip.
-
Be sure to bring more water than you think you’ll need and a snack. We highly recommend a small backpack/daypack to carry everything.
-
Weather: The hike will still occur if the weather is misty, but extreme temperatures or inclement weather will cancel the hike. The weather call will occur by that morning as weather forecasts can change with the wind.
