Sabra Bledsoe

Dr. Sabra Bledsoe is a Business & Workforce Director at the Tennessee Department of Labor &
Workforce Development. She provides leadership and support around the delivery of
employment and training programs related to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act
(WIOA) and all other related laws/programs. She is a Certified Business Engagement
Professional who participates in the development of strategies to better serve the needs of
business and industry, utilizing a sector-based service delivery approach. Sabra serves on
multiple local workforce groups and is a member of the Northwest Local Workforce
Development Board, where she provides policy guidance and exercises oversight with respect
to activities under the WIOA, in partnership with local government. Outside of work, she
volunteers with a variety of local non-profit organizations. Prior to her current role, Sabra was
an educator for 19 years and served in many leadership capacities at both the elementary and
high school levels. Sabra holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of
Memphis, a Master of Science in School Counseling from the University of Tennessee at Martin,
and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Carson Newman University. She is based in
West Tennessee.
