Michael Sanders

Michael, Chartwell Hospitality Vice President of Hotel Operations, has more than 30 years of experience working with major hotel brands in the full-service sector. Joining Chartwell Hospitality in 2017, Michael has been instrumental in the execution of the firm’s present growth strategy, including through his operational acumen, skills at team building, and deep experience in major property renovation, market repositioning, and brand conversion.

Prior to joining Chartwell Hospitality, Michael began his career at an entry level Food and Beverage position with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. Learning the industry from ground up, he eventually became a General Manager at multiple Wyndham properties. He next joined Davidson Hotels and Resorts, where he was General Manager under Marriott, Hilton, Westin and Renaissance flags. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree, Cum Laude, from the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Sanders has been actively involved in hospitality and tourism industry organizations throughout his career, having served on the Tennessee Hotel and Tourism Association Board, the Columbia State Community College Hospitality Advisory Committee, the San Antonio Hotel and Lodging Association, the Williamson County (TN) Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors, and St. Philip’s College Hotel Advisory Committee.
